At first glance, you might not even realize this slick 3rd Street Promenade-proxy restaurant serves Mexican cuisine, were it not for the heaping plates of carnitas, ceviches and other Mexicali favorites. The interior is clean and sparse with stainless steel and industrialized edges, but the focus here should be on the food anyway, which is consistently flavorful and inventive. Margaritas, mojitos and tequilas are aplenty, as are repeat customers.
