Team of designers follows up on drunken promise to open low-pretense neighborhood hang. Converted horse stable near everyone’s favorite canal (once so nasty it was nicknamed the “lavender lake”). Space echoes simple “Scandinavian rustic” vibe. Brick walls, industrial stools, manly raw wood. Standard taps, creative cocktails like the Lavender Lake Iced Tea (L.L.I.T.): lavender vodka, simple syrup, Earl Grey, and lemon. Early opening hours, weekend brunch, and buckets of beer; i.e. something for Brooklynites of all stripes. Giant garden gnome watching over spacious backyard always a plus.
