La Vara

Editorial Review

Jewish-Spanish kitchen in Cobble Hill, cozy among brownstones. Glass front lets in plenty of light, space is clean and unpretentious. Husband-and-wife chefs Alex Raij and Eder Montero of Txikito do Moorish fare, tapas-style bites and full entrées. Handmade pasta with or without goat meat, Menorcan beef tongue, fried artichokes. Sevillan pita and Mallorcan flatbread are necessities, as is the Valencian olive oil ice cream. Appetites and strollers welcome.
