Beyond classic. Even post-renovation, J-Bar keeps old time western saloon spirit alive on Main St. in the Hotel Jerome. Crowd ranges from celebs that know their way around town to tourists trying to be a part of history. The burger and spinach dip are at the top of a light menu, but don’t come to eat. Drink in a classic saloon that snuck alcohol in milkshakes called “Aspen Crud” during prohibition. Drinking is no longer undercover here by any means, and if bourbon in a milkshake doesn’t sound appetizing, order the J-Rita. Not what the old miners would have ordered, but does the trick regardless.
