A neighborhood place (though consider the ritzy neighbors) surrounded on all sides by Thomas Keller extravagance; Hurley's is at ground zero for Napa Valley wine snootery. Given the environs, its surprisingly free of pretense, dishing out simple, new American fare in a cozy, if nondescript, dining room. The patio provides additional seating options. And late night (keep in mind this means 9pm to midnight) finds locals crowding around the bar, noshing on favorites like the Critical Mass Fries--dowsed with bacon and truffle oil--not for the faint of heart
