Spend the night on the same block as "The Leaning Brownstone." Industrial stretch where everything seems to be sinking is actually central to Park Slope, Carroll Gardens, and the R. Good availability thanks to 115 rooms. Clean interiors, free continental breakfasts, some parking on-site. Utilitarian choice, like its surroundings, but much better than you're picturing when you hear Gowanus.
