Hosts John and Renate run the friendliest hotel in town (more of a B&B really): a 4-story 1913 Edwardian charmer that’s bedecked with antiques, wicker and old photographs. Enjoy cookies and tea with Captain Nemo the housecat, then ride the birdcage elevator to your room and take a long soak in the claw-foot tub. It’s like staying at Grandma’s house sans the funny smell. Afternoon tea even.
