Ginny’s Supper Club

Editorial Review

Harlem Renaissance redux in a subterranean speakeasy. Red Rooster’s Marcus Samuelsson and Andrew Chapman evoke Uptown of the ‘30s with this leathery lounge, replete with low light, bistro tables, and crimson couches. Add a Harlem Mule or a Sazerac to the mix and it’s hard not to experience your own renaissance of cool. Feast on small plates—jerk veal tongue or fried chicken confit with waffles— while you listen to big bands. Nightly live jazz, soul, R&B, and spoken word send your ear to yesteryear. Ah, making poetry already.
