Locals flock to reliably rich, low-key South Bay Italian eatery. Owners have roots with former SF mayor Moscone. Pseudo "rustic" environment is pleasant enough with no harsh lights or mood music to distract from the robust menu that's a pleasure to read in itself. Best starters include insalata de spinaci, insalata gorgonzola, crab polenta and fresh, citrus-y carpaccio. Pastas are hearty and generous for mega carbo-loading; we like the much-discussed capellini astice. Ain't mad at the gnocchi or the scampi saltati, either. Order snapper sandwich at lunch. Great for a big groups at dinner.
