No mention of Greepoint bar/café Five Leaves has gone without mentioning its prime investor, the late Heath Ledger, and this one's no exception. The place does more than justice to any legacy it's had to worry about, though, and the place's light, fun air does away with any morbid impulses wide-eyed Brooklyn tourists might step in with. Cozy room with nautical décor; drinks are cheapish, and American plates (burgers, fried egg with dandilion greens) with hints of creativity (Earl Grey ice cream) work fine, don't do too much damage to the palate or wallet. For Greenpoint, for New York, it's a pretty charming bar.
