Ascend Collection descends on the Port Authority, drops 32 stories of lux boutique hotel action. No typo in the name: they're just referencing NYC's Dutch roots. City drives the theme, from Central Park in the lobby to the grid around the elevators up to each floor taking on its own nabe motif. Rooms go name brand, with Frette linens, LG flatscreens, and Ecru soaps. Nice little touches like turndown service and overnight shoeshines.
