Dirt Candy

Editorial Review

Cheeky vegetarian restaurant concept (it's candy, from the dirt, they're vegetables, etc.) in the EV. Place looks like it could give, say, Angelika Kitchen a run for its money, grains, whatever: trumpet royale mushrooms and preserved lemon mayo get tossed in a Greek salad, and something called "Kimchi Doughnuts" jumps out on the apps side of the menu. A bunch of biodynamic wines grace the menu's booze list, which does fans of South American vinos a solid.(Photo: Michael Harlan Turkell)
