Soulless strip mall exterior belies an authentic, romantic Italian original that can be quite a tough table. Small but cozy space gets booked with adoring, somewhat older locals. Compact, simple but strong menu features always-fresh salads and pastas. We like the crisp Caesar salad and the savory linguine with smoked chicken. Pair it with local sauvignon blanc. Experienced staff strike that oh-so tricky balance between attentive and intrusive. Finish with a prime Madeira.
