Café Kristall

Editorial Review

Downtown counterpart to Kurt Gutenbrunner’s Café Sabarsky. Jewel box of a joint is as sleek as fine crystal, which is maybe not such a coincidence since it’s stashed inside the Swarovski store. Soups and salads keep lunchtimes figure-friendly, entrées swing toward refined takes on Austrian essentials like wiener schnitzel and chicken strudel. Like Sabarsky, dessert program has Viennese expats teary-eyed. Topfentorte, quark cheesecake mousse and pears, like a mini Guggenheim Museum you can eat.
