Editorial Review

There are a few details remaining from the former 1960s diner that this cafe has taken over, namely an all-day brunch and lunch menu. But this is no greasy spoon; dishes are fresh and modern, like the maple-braised Niman Ranch slab bacon with coffee-spiked fries, or French toast stuffed with cinnamon cream cheese and strawberry-thyme jam. The duck reuben comes with pastrami chips, and the lamb meatloaf has whipped purple mashed potatoes. The lure of this familiar diner setting might just make you comfortable enough to try something new (re: avocado mousse on your BLT).
